Week of January 5 Update

Hello Pisces and Happy New Year !

We have a normal practice week with one exception. Tuesday there will be no practice at Hillcrest in lieu of the 9-12 year old Nutmeg Meet vs. Shelton. All Pisces 9-12 will participate. Please see the below email for details. All 13 and over swimmers will practice at UB beginning at 6pm.

Thursday evening  we have a 8 and under USA Meet in Norwalk. Please check the web for the meet announcement and entry's for details.

Please let us know if you should have any questions. Thanks and GO PISCES! Tom

The 9-12 Nutmeg meet is this Tuesday, January 6th.  The following is the list of parent volunteers for the meet.  As you all know hosting a meet is very labor intensive and we rely on all parents to volunteer.

All volunteers should be at the pool no later than 5:45 (warm-up for the swimmers is at 5:30).  A timers meeting will be at 5:50.

Please contact me Sue Spillane directly at

HI Pisces Families,

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE FRUIT FUNDRAISER!

We raised $500 for the team.  A special thanks to Alicia Lapham for coordinating and running this fundraiser.

We have just been notified of the delivery date.

Saturday, December 13th
2:00pm - 3:00pm
at Hillcrest

There is only one pick up for the fruit.  It will take place in the parking lot in front of Hillcrest.  If you ordered fruit from this fundraiser, please be there to pick it up.  If for some reason the truck is delayed, due to weather between Florida and Connecticut, we will notify everyone.

If you have any questions, please contact Alicia Lapham at alapham@lifecare.com

Tips For New Parents:

1. Check your email daily. This is the quickest way for us to communicate late-breaking news, announcements, and the last-minute cancellations. Also check the website, TrumbullPisces.org, and your swimmer's file folder.

2. Label all swimmer items. Be sure to label your swimmer's caps, swimsuits, goggles, towels, etc. to ensure that they are returned to you if they are left behind.

3. Do not allow swimmers to bring valuables to practices or meets. This includes gameboys, jewelry, watches, and money. Many people have access to unattended bags left on the deck as well as in the locker room, and the best way to prevent a valuable from getting stolen is not to bring it in the first place.

4. Volunteer. Timers, ribbon writers, and scorers are needed for every Nutmeg meet. All parents are asked to do their fair share to make the program a success. Times are also needed at USA meets based on the number of swimmers attending. All training will be provided, and volunteering is a great way to get involved and learn more about your child's sport.
